Greetings, South Green Owners.
Hope that this message finds you in good health and great spirits. This past Tuesday, December 8th your Association held its Annual members meeting (virtually – online). The meeting was well attended and your board members for next year are: Ken Evans, Rolando Guerra and Holli Chrzanowski. During the meeting, Ken Evans summarized the community’s finances which are stable while keeping assessments at same level as years prior. Other measurable accomplishments for 2020 consisted of the sidewalk repair project. A stroll around the block is a lot easier now without encountering trip hazards. The 6th Street fence and brick columns were also recently cleaned.
Some notable improvements also came from a handful of neighbors who elevated the community’s overall curb appeal by updating their lawns and repainting their homes. Please remember that all exterior modifications must be approved before commencement of work and you can find the application online at southgreen.ngpcam.com. Just click on “Resources” and drop down to “Exterior Modifications.”
Other HOA projects contemplated for 2021 include re-grading and installing sod at the Oak Green retention pond and other maintenance and beautification projects. With maintenance on the forefront the board would like to hear from South Green owners who live on the outer edge of the community and share in the perimeter fencing. Please advise as to the condition of the perimeter fence within your lot. Feel free to forward pictures if repairs are indicated. Good fences make for good neighbors, so please contact management company so that proper fence maintenance can be planned out.
There are other important “neighborly” behaviors /deed restriction requirements that we should adhere to and occasionally need reminding:
- Trash receptacles should only be visible to the community on the evening before pickup and trash receptacles should be stowed out of sight of the community by 6:00 p.m., the day of pick up. It is easy to get used to seeing our own trash cans rolled up to our garage or to the front of our homes. We need to be mindful of our neighbors who may be sensitive to this practice. Visible trashcans do not contribute to the neighborhood aesthetics nor does it enhance value or impress guests. Let us be good neighbors and store our trash cans away from view of the community.
- Parking – Please park all your vehicles in your driveway. South Green streets are a bit narrow and your cooperation is needed to keep our streets clear and safe for flowing traffic and emergency vehicles.
We appreciate your consideration, and we thank you for being a good neighbor and making South Green a great place to live. The board of directors wishes all South Green neighbors a Happy and Safe Holiday and a Very Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year.
Best regards,
Board of Directors for South Green Homeowner’s Association.
